Biological Safety Cabinets
Biological Safety Cabinets (BSCs) are enclosed, ventilated laboratory workspaces designed to protect the user, the environment, and the materials being handled from exposure to biohazardous agents. They use HEPA-filtered airflow to create a sterile environment and safely contain airborne contaminants. Commonly used in microbiology, biotechnology, and medical research, BSCs are essential for maintaining safety when working with infectious or potentially harmful biological materials.
Through Gelaire, our offerings include:
- Class II (A1/A2)
- UltraSafe Class I, II, III
SafeFAST Elite Microbiological Safety Cabinets, manufactured by Faster S.r.l., are advanced Class II laminar airflow systems built to meet the EN-12469:2000 European Standard for microbiological safety. Engineered with high-grade materials and precision airflow control, these cabinets maintain 70% internal air recirculation through Class H14 HEPA/ULPA filtration, while 30% is safely exhausted. Featuring microprocessor-based monitoring and automatic airflow regulation, SafeFAST Elite units are suitable for safe handling of microorganisms and biohazards, with applications across microbiology, virology, cell culture, and biomedical research. The ‘S’ series features a single-fan design, while the ‘D’ series offers a dual-fan system for optional ducted exhaust.
